The sector comprises companies which assemble and manufacture computers, computer hardware and computer peripherals (which include data storage components, motherboards, audio and video cards, monitors, keyboards). Higher income levels and growth in demand for computer technology have boosted the sector – especially in emerging markets.
Within the sector, demand for traditional PCs has diminished in the face of growing demand for tablet devices and mobile phones but economic growth and increasing acceptance of digital information will drive further demand – albeit that the growth in cloud products and solutions will have an influence.
